Serious question: why even ever write the bottom number? Just write the time as 2, 3, 4, 6, or the odd times like 5, 7, 9. There doesn’t seem to be any actual need for the bottom number at all unless the writer is being pretentious

I think that if it'd be usefull in a song that changes time signatures, so a song that is mostly in 4/4 for example and then there's a few bars of 6/7 in the middle, so it doesn't just sound like 3/4 or 6/8
