@tobojosh: DIY Backyard Fire Pit - the easiest and most practical upgrade you need to make to your backyard this year🔥🪵 Step 1) Layout fire pit to your size of choice. I went with a round 12’ diameter circle. Step 2) Remove grass where fire pit going to be installed. I highly recommend renting a tiller from @The Home Depot this will make your life a lot less stressful! Step 3) Install metal edging. This provides your fire pit with a crisp border and separates the grass from the walkway/fire area. Step 4) Install weed barrier. This prevents weeds and grass from growing. Step 5) Install and compact rock/dirt mix. This will provide your stepping stones and fire pit with a solid foundation and mitigate any settling. Step 6) Install paver sand. I purchased @Pavestone bags from Home Depot and evenly spread those throughout the area. Step 7) Install stepping stones. Step 8) Install black gravel rock.
