first attempt at making flan :p aside from having to remake the caramel 4 times & forgetting the milk , it came out soooo good ✨ recipe : caramel: 1 c sugar (200g) cook the sugar on medium heat until it starts to melt, start mixing the sugar until it is fully dissolved ( this will take some time, continue mixing so it doesn’t burn ) once fully melted and deep amber color pour into the pan and gently tilt the pan so the caramel completely covers the bottoms and slightly on the sides. (set aside)( the pan WILL get hot so be careful lol ) custard: 1 c sweetened condensed milk (305g) 1 c evaporated milk (240g) 3/4 c whole milk (180g) 4 eggs (200g) 1 tbsp vanilla (13g) pinch of salt in a bowl whisk the eggs just until combined, then add the evaporated milk, condensed milk, vanilla, and salt and whisk gently so you don't add too much air. ( you could even use an immersion blender to make sure everything is fully combined ) strain the custard through a fine mesh sieve into the caramel pan. ( i reccomend doing this twice so you don’t get bubbles like mine) place the pan inside a larger baking dish and pour hot water around it to make a warm water bath (about halfway up the sides). bake at 325°f for about 50-60 minutes, or until the center jiggles like jello but is not liquid. cool completely at room temp, then chill at least 4 hours. to unmold, run a thin knife around the edges, place your serving plate on top, flip, and let the caramel release naturally. #flan #Recipe #thanksgivingdessert #EasyRecipe #flanrecipe
