Truth! I think as writers we definitely have a responsibility to treat those issues w/ care just because hey that’s some real heavy stuff still happening on mass today, so it’s definitely a bit frustrating when someone adds it in purely for shock value. There’s no discussion to be had about it and not to raise awareness about an issue or say anything it’s just a nothingburger, almost feels like downplaying the severity of things like pedophilia considering its reduced to nothing but shock value.
