@anttsinc: “Ring just rolled out a new ‘Watch Party’ feature — and your neighbors might be watching more than you think #anttsinc The new Ring “Watch Party” lets neighbors access your cameras to look for things like a missing pet — but it also means they could see inside your home or backyard if you’re not careful. Check your settings and turn it off if you value your privacy.
I just checked mine and it was automatically enabled. 😡

It uses AI to match and alerts you and you CAN share it. That ISN'T allowing ANYONE to view your ring doorbell camera themselves. That would be a HUGE security issue.

Ring just partnered with the same company that has the license plate reader cameras in many states. Now law enforcement has this, they have an application that the police can look to see who all has ring cameras in the neighborhood so they can request your camera footage if they need it for any reason. I’m uncomfortable with the fact that they’ve partnered with this company. How much do they really have access to? Can we truly turn it off?

Not exactly true. The feature will let your camera run through its footage and if it finds a dog, it will scan for a match of the lost dog posted to Ring. Then it will alert the owner of said ring footage and they choose if they want to send the footage to the person looking for their dog. With that said, I disabled this feature, but I feel like everyone is exaggerating a bit when they talk about this new feature

The amount of people in the comments that are incapable of using a simple Google search to read and understand that you actually have to agree to all of this, and you can turn the feature on or off. You’re so choosing.

I’m so tired of having to OPT out of things. People should have to OPT into things. They hope people don’t catch stuff

Your neighbors can’t physically look at your cameras, it just uses AI to search for a dog, and only on the outside cameras.
