i’d say it was worth it for gołąmpki… you’ll need: - 1 green cabbage - 1/2 cup rice - 1 white onion - 3 cloves garlic - 2x 400g cans chopped tomato’s - 1tbsp marjoram - 1 beef stock cube (in 250ml water) - salt & pepper to taste - 500g ground pork / veal - 1 egg method: 1. place the cabbage in a large pot and fill with water. place a lid on top and put on a high heat until boiling. boil for 4-5 minutes. 2. remove from the water and place the cabbage on a baking tray. allow to cool. 3. in the same water, boil the rice for 5-6 minutes until al dente. 4. drain the rice and place in a large bowl and set to one side. 5. begin my removing all the cabbage leaves from the cabbage and remove the stem by cutting or ripping it off. 6. finely chop the onion and garlic and fry in some olive oil until soft. 7. place half the onion and garlic mixture in the same bowl as the rice. 8. whilst the onion and garlic remaining is still cooking, add in the chopped tomato’s, marjoram, stock and seasoning. place a lid on it and simmer whilst you continue with the rest. 9. in the bowl with rice and the onion mixture, add in the ground pork, egg and seasoning. mix until thoroughly combined. 10. remove tomato sauce of heat and place about 1 cup in the bottom of a large baking dish. 11. now, take a cabbage leaf, place a tbsp of the meat mixture in the top of the V and fold the two flaps inwards. grab the bottom of the leaf and roll up like you would wrap a burrito. 12. continue with the rest of the leaves and meat mixture. 13. place them in uniform rows on your baking dish. 14. cover the gółąmpki in the rest of the tomato sauce and bake at 170c for 1 hour. 15. serve whilst piping hot with sourdough, dill or just on their own! enjoy a proper polish meal !!! #DinnerIdeas #dinner #polishfood #polish
