@misha.griffis: I thought this might be a helpful video for people to send to others who may not know how to support them, but want to. here are three things a person can do to support someone with a chronic illness: 1. Don’t say things like “Get well soon” or “I hope you feel better.” This is our life everyday, so they’re really isn’t “getting better” in sight. we always hope but we’re better off just accepting the present. 2. You can ask a person with chronic illness what you can do to help, but most often they will say “nothing.” Instead, start doing chores for them that require physical energy without asking. My sister does this and it makes my life so much easier!! 3. Try not to comment on them looking like they’re feeling well or doing better. People with chronic illnesses are very good at masking. It’s uncomfortable when someone says that, but we’re actually really struggling. 🫠 #chronicillness #spoonie #helpful #singlemom #advice
