@garyvee: A lot of unhappiness and angst in the world because of the inability to live within one’s means … what people think is standard today wasn’t for most just 2 decades ago, we must champion the concept of saving money, there’s an opportunity for many to cut costs. Of course there are many who live for roof over head and food on table, but there are 100’s of millions of people who could 1. Stop buying $5 coffee 2X a day and make their own or cut coffee 2. Not use Postmates or Uber eats 2x a day 3. Not have 4 streaming services & pick 1/2 4. Stop buying all sorts of dumb shit to impress people who deep down they don’t even like or care about the opinions of those people but they are stuck in this keeping up with the Jones’s world 5. Fight for happiness ❤️ not stuff #mindset #garyvee #money

THEY didn’t cook at home, the wife did while their single income paid the bills. DOES NOT COMPARE. I work 7 days, shopping, cooking, cleanup is literally time I don’t have. CORPORATE greed got us here.

My biggest money problem wasn't budgeting it was just following bad advice that kept me broke…😅 Financial freedom isn't about the number in your account, it's about the structure protecting it. The Elite's Wealth Secrets by Robert Bluestein is the only book that explained this analogy perfectly

So give us the buying power that boomers had and tax the rich and corporations like boomers had.

Ummm idk if I agree. In order to have the buying power of boomers we would need to make $66 an hour today. It’s okay if we want a $5 treat here and there.

We need to make $66 an hour to equal the buying power of the boomers and Gary says just stay home. This is fucking stupid.

I agree with this but pay vs housing cost is not the same as it was when boomers were in there 20s. Two things can be true.

GenX feels the same way. We had roommates, and futons and furniture made out of cinderblocks and milk crates so we could afford to live.

Gotta disagree with him here I usually like what he says. Every generation has it easier than the last one, older generations thought the boomers were weak cause they had ac and televisions. But now jobs are competitive relationships are incredibly hard families and owning houses aren’t really happening. In some ways we have it easier but in other ways we have it much more difficult. Boomers didn’t have student loan debt like we do, and could get good paying jobs without much work. The acceptance rates to colleges was also much higher back then. Again in some ways it’s easier we have the internet and can start a billion dollar idea easy, however there’s a much wider gap between succesful and unsuccessful people than their used to be

this advice is 100% on the money and the type the younger generations need to be told - so few individuals hold internal locus’s of control and take accountability and responsibility for self and actions

No, shit is not the same as back when boomers had it. Bc companies decided to make money instead of having a good product. That is why maybe said purse will not last 9 yrs anymore.
