@cooking_with_daisy_: I’ll never outgrow the swap-meet. As a kid, it was our weekend tradition. Even if we didn’t buy anything, it was still a day filled with music, food, laughter, and just being out together. One of my best memories? Going with my grandma after she’d finish selling tamales on the weekend. We’d take the bus. That location closed down years ago, but those days? I’ll never forget them. Now I take my own kids. And don’t get me wrong, they rarely ask for anything. Most of the time we’re just walking around, soaking it in, spending zero dollars aside from the entrance fee. But when they do ask for something and we can say yes… it hits. It’s hard not to think about how far we’ve come. Some people I knew used to be embarrassed to go to the swap meet. Wild.
