Both shows have separate Show-writers. They don’t have the same person woven into each of theses shows. Unfortunately 💔 The show runner Rolin Jones is a Playwright. Which explains his attention to details and parallels in iwtv. I am sad that they didn’t put him in charge of all the tv series that they are developing from Anne Rice books 📚

So far I think I’m enjoying it. (The Talanasca one I mean) Mayfair Witches was my main disappointment. Alexandra Daddario is one of the most emotionless flat actors i have ever had grace my screen. The only character on that show that I was interested in at all was Ciprien Grieve 🤷

i’m honestly already nervous about tvl since there are no black writers (maybe 1 max?) on staff for season 3. the first two seasons of iwtv were lightning in a bottle because it was so culturally informed, i worry moving forward esp as rice’s work gets more wacky/deluded

The idea of an ancient secret society that observes and investigates the supernatural is so unique and inspires so much creativity but I always wanted Anne to do more with it than what she did so I won’t be surprised if the show also misses the mark. Like there was one remark in one of the books about bees being something the talamasca is terrified of for mysterious reasons and suspecting bees had something to do with the origins of the Talamasca and then it was just never touched on again and it bugs me to this day
