Being where I am now as a lash artist and business owner, it's crazy to look back and see where I started. If I've learned one overarching thing throughout this journey - it's that each step and action you take that feels true to who you are, brings you closer to achieving your goals. When I started out, I tried things that didn't work. A lot of things. I tried appealing to clients based on a personality that wasn't my own. With branding that didn't excite me or feel genuine. When it didn't work I felt discouraged, I doubted myself, and I questioned my decisions. I tried new things, some of them were failures again and some of them moved me in the right direction. The biggest one being accepting that "I am not for everyone." But in order to find the people that I AM for, I had to first actually be myself. I had to be authentic in my branding and my marketing. I switched from the overused colors and went with the bold, bright colors that represented me. And the clients that felt represented too, started booking. I created Red Envy Lashes to help other lash artists do the same. To grow their businesses and to feel 100% comfortable being their authentic selves. Along the way it became a community that lifts each other up and celebrates our uniqueness, boldness, and brightness. (Which is the most beautiful part of all of this!) All in all, if I could share one thing from my journey with you, it would be keep going and discovering what makes you feel good in your business. As you find yourself, your voice and your brand - you'll find your success too.
