I understand being hungry and desperate for food, so people will do the unthinkable and steal. Pretty sure anyone would if they were in that situation. But to threaten to steal food before they’re actually in crisis is nothing more than an opportunistic thief. Communities need to get on the ball and ask for donations on items so we can all help take care of our neighbors. Food pantries should be the first place people should want to go to for help. Not committing a crime, in turn worsening their situation with legal trouble, for which you know they’ll blame Trump for their actions🙄(further creating a divide). I think Trump needs to address this and encourage everyone to pitch in. Make sure food pantries stay stocked and if you are charged with stealing food and you’re on food stamps then you should temporarily lose those benefits. I understand people are angry and scared, but we can’t give in to lawlessness.
