While wifi and bluetooth use same 2.4GHz band and modern chips almost always can in fact do both of them just having an antenna is NOT enough. There are a lot of protocols that use 2.4 GHz band and they all are different. Like your wirless network card can’t do Zigbee or LoRa despite having the antenna. Bluetooth use narrow band low power channels (usually 1 MHz wide) while wifi use 20/40 MHz wide channels. Protocols were designed for entirly different purposes so they are nothing alike. Also there are in fact wifi standard that works on 900MHz band designed for long range communication.

my motherboard LITERALLY mentions this on its built in wifi info on the website. also has a snazy twin mini coax style hook up on the back as the antenna is external. I also have logitech hardware that uses its own adapter with secondary way of doing it so i can swap between that and bluetooth as some bluetooth devices send out enough requests it overwhelms the combined adapter.

Another interesting fact about Wi-Fi, some of those cheap wireless Amazon products you buy can slow your Wi-Fi to a fraction of its real speed because of different versions of 802.11 - all devices on a given network need to operate on the same 802.11 version so a super fast Wi-Fi 6 router can be downgraded to as low as 100mbps just because of cheap Wi-Fi devices.

Shouldn’t this have to do with the Wi-Fi card? There are plenty of Wi-Fi cards that don’t have Bluetooth capability because it’s just not built in. Or maybe I’m wrong. Speed is also tied to the Wi-Fi card you have/buy (if you buy a Wi-Fi 4 card you’ll get WiFi 4 speeds)
