Like it never felt like a sad romance story to me, he was killing children and she was making excuses for him and not addressing it. While they were ACTIVELY AWARE the king commanding him to do that was insane btw.

I fear a lot of people aren’t paying attention to the underlying meaning behind this scene…(this is aimed at the comments dw) it isn’t that he was ok with killing kids, it’s implied he was kind of forced into it because of life circumstances. PLUS the fact he crashed out when his girlfriend was on the list wasn’t because she was the only one he cared about; if you were paying attention to his tone it’s more so that she was the straw that broke the camels back. He didn’t like doing what he did, but he kept trying to rationalize it and justify the actions to himself because there really isn’t an easy way for him to get out of that situation. Hopefully no one takes this as hate btw I’m trying to give people a slightly better idea of what exactly went on[cute]

Don’t get me wrong, What he’s done is terrible. But he really didn’t have a choice. He was raised into the job because he was an orphan/lower class, and he clearly showed remorse. If he didn’t follow through with his job, HE would have been killed. It’s selfish, yes, but Rerir just wanted to go on living just like the Crimson Moon descendants.
