I don’t mind that effect. If we’re going to have 60+ yarders, we may as well eliminate < 35 yarders. When to kick becomes new territory for more strategery. 👍👍

My issue is these dam DC want to play 15-20 yards back when the team needs 30 ish yards to get into FG range. It’s just doesn’t make sense. Play cover too and play man-man, I’m looking at you Giants!

case and point. Arizona kicks to GB after a fg with 7 seconds. Packers get ball at 35. one play. 6 seconds. and a 61 yd fg to end half.

I’ve always thought instead of kicking off after field goals you give the team the ball where you kicked the field goal from whether you make it or miss it.

The combination of the change of kickoff and the change of kicking ball rules is a major problem. 60-yard field goals are starting to become common and 50s are automatic. Starting closer and kicking it longer is making things so much more conservative and boring
