One of the questions I was asked during last month’s U.S. House Committee on Small Businesses hearing was about how creators and small businesses use search engine optimization (SEO). I shared how SEO goes far beyond websites and traditional marketing now — social media is searchable, and creators are using it to grow their businesses in cost-effective, impactful ways. We’re seeing a shift where Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok act as modern-day search engines for both creators and consumers. The goal with SEO is to meet your target audience where they are and with these updates by the platforms we know and use daily, it’s a reminder that visibility is everything. Understanding how to position yourself online can make all the difference for your business. And protecting that presence becomes critical the more and quicker you grow.
