What this made me understand is how horrible the right is as you make up a bunch of bullshit. Reagan was absolutely against tariffs and he was reluctant to impose them against Japan. Turns out he shouldn’t have, as they didn’t work against Japan. There is a time and place for tariffs to achieve some specific result. Across the border tariffs are the dumbest thing any president has ever done.
