@bennettequestrian: Do you know why foals are commonly born at night? Answer in the comments 🐴 #foaling #birth #horsetok #babyanimals #creatorsearchinsights
Is it because when they’re in the wild at night it’s safer because they have a heard and then during the morning they can then like run

Last year we had two who were in foal, first one foaled at 5am and the second foaled at 1.30 am, this year we only had one in foal and she decided to foal at 11.45 ish 🤣 great fun. I only have one in foal for next year possibly two because the second one the vet wasn’t sure if she was or not and she has been acting strange so will do a blood test on her to see, and the other two mares didn’t hold unfortunately but will try again next year 🥰

My maiden mare broke every single rule. Streamed out milk for 9 days before she foaled, foaled at 9:30am with no signs of discomfort, on day 314, and within like 40 minutes baby was bone dry, drinking, standing, and mama was taking a nap lol

It’s because horses are prey animals, so they birth at night because the predators are less likely to be able to see them
