It’s cloud gliding not flying what zaheer did was flying but they were riding the cloud n the don’t do it for long it’s like a short burst n its similar to ang air scooter

In Wan's era this flying is sorta creating air to mimic flight that's why we see the cloud on their foot so i can say it's just a forgotten skill

Zaheer was the second person to discover void bending which allows u to fly. The other air benders were never flying, they were floating by using air which is different from just casually flying

this is not flight. this is cloud riding. Wan was doing this. the argument of "if it uses air then it's flight" is wrong. it's clearly explained in ATLA that gliding and flying are different. what Aang does with his GLIDER is called GLIDING, even when he uses airbending to sustain his GLIDE. what Zaheer did was flight. unassisted flight. thats what flying in the Avatar verse means.

atla speaking fax hear I think it's half because they don't have earthly attachments and mainly are attached to the air itself as the lion turtle was just there and though they lived on it they prob went around flying instead and the lion turtle prob unlike the fire lion turtle bestowed the ability on everyone

I think people are confused whenever they try to reason that Aang can fly during Avatar state. Kinda true, but there's a difference. Aang uses the wind to lift him up so he can fly. There is a gust of wind around him. Zaheer floats. No wind around him pushing him to different directions similar to Sky Bisons.
