As I was attempting to chop up nice clips from Elliott's video, I quickly realised that the whole two and a half minute video was a highlight reel! He will hopefully get his 1st fight soon! Watch the entire video if you get a chance What's going on here is one guy gets to target practice on his opponent using a nice flow, while his opponent tries to catch his punches and takes his kicks, knees, and body shots! The aim isn't technical defence. It's to try to get into a flow state where every punch and kick gets thrown seamlessly! Pretty sure he understood the mission 🔹 Benefits for the Attacking Fighter (Free Flow) 1. Creativity & Fluidity – The attacker gets to string combinations together without worrying about counters interrupting them. This builds natural rhythm and confidence in throwing. 2. Shot Placement & Accuracy – They can focus on where shots land (on arms, body, legs, guard gaps) without full resistance. 3. Flow State Training – Instead of “thinking” about combinations, the attacker learns to let techniques flow naturally, like shadowboxing but on a live target. --- 🔹 Benefits for the Receiving Fighter 1. Conditioning – The receiver’s body, guard, and legs toughen up by absorbing low kicks, body shots, and glove impacts. 2. Defense & Composure – They learn to stay relaxed under pressure, defend properly, and not panic when being hit. 3. Reading Opponents – By watching combinations unfold, they develop a sharper eye for common setups, feints, and striking patterns. --- 🔹 Benefits for Both Fighters Trust & Control – The drill builds partner awareness. The attacker learns control, while the receiver learns confidence in taking shots without injury. Technical Focus – Because intensity is controlled, both fighters can focus on technique rather than “winning.” Fight Simulation Without Risk – It gives a real sense of fighting rhythm, but without the heavy damage of hard sparring. --- 👉 In essence, this version of free-flow sparring is like a live padwork session with a thinking, moving partner. The attacker sharpens offensive creativity, while the defender strengthens resilience and awareness. Together, it’s one of the safest yet most effective ways to replicate the feel of a fight. #muaythai #sparring #kickboxing #dedication #discipline
