My Lulu needed injections for her joints during the last couple years of her life. I am lucky I could afford $120 a month to do that. Not everyone can do that and doing it all 18 years of her life, instead of 2 years, how many people can afford that? Best for this little guy to stay where he is with someone that can meet his needs.

I have 4 disabled cats. 1 blind and 3 with mobility deformities. There is no doubt as they get older they will absolutely need additional and costly Vet care. All are on joint supplements and in no way can they ever be outside even by accident, they could not survive. Litter box accessibility is an issue, I have shallow easy access boxes but some people don’t realize it’s a 24/7 clean up. It gets messy. In addition, as cute as they are the reality is that not one of my disabled cats ever had one application for adoption before I adopted them. I love your page so much! I love that you bring the real side of cat rescue, long term care for cats and specifically disabled cats. ❤️❤️❤️❤

hemlock there's another person on here who fosters cats they Foster the kitten the kitten got adopted the kitten had a great life until and how do you predict this the adopter got into an abusive relationship and then had to give the cat back the cat had been traumatized and needed to be work with again until they can get adopted out again but do explain hemlock how you predict that

I think anyone that follows you regularly knows that you will take care of these kitties and will do what is best for them because you have the experience to know what is best for them♥️I have a possible IBD black cat that just showed up at my house one day in early September and wow the hydrolyzed food is very expensive and the mess he makes because of it is probably why he was dumped out instead of taken to the vet. I know it's most likely no one will adopt him and then if someone wants to will they take proper care of him.

I adopted my dog at 12 weeks old, 3 years later, she developed severe food allergies & is now on a special diet + meds that costs over $600/month. Could ANYONE have known that would happen? Absolutely not! Will I make sure she gets what she needs? Yes! But not everyone could afford that.

some rescues are like ,let's put a shy cat that hides with every little noise with two toddlers, just because they want it adopted ! you do a great job , you put the cats first and that's how all rescues should be 💙

After watching your videos for some time, I trust that you’re making informed decisions about which cats get adopted out and which cats get to stay with you at the rescue. These special cats are lucky to have you! Thank you for all you do!

I don’t understand why anyone would have an issue with you keeping him. He will have endless love and care his entire life if he stays with you. How could that possibly be perceived as a bad thing?

I got a kitten that had a back leg disability could use it to balance but that was it . No use any other way. Couldn’t jump higher than a chair. Was the best cat I have ever had. Only lived six years cause he had stomach cancer lots of medical expenses but way worth it for the love he gave me

This is why trusted foster homes for pets are needed. They do not exist as much as people think. You holding onto the kitten so it will have access to healthcare is the most ethical move here. Especially because of the bait animal situation.

it makes perfect sense with this information i didn’t even consider this stuff myself tbh. i would also be very hesitant to adopt out a cat or kitten with litterbox issues and potential future health complications. at first glance, i thought of the obvious issues like arthritis and potential for their claws to grow into the paws but it didn’t rlly occur to me that those other types of issues could be a concern due to the deformities. appreciate your educational content sm!

Tbh you’re the only fully ethical rescuer I’ve met/seen. That says a lot. People will continue to tear down rescuers because there will always be an issue. Keep making these posts and educating people, it’s so beneficial for the ones who listen.
