I had the same fears... until I stopped playing multiplayer games. I will say just that: pick one or two and preferably without all those battle passes and seasons. you'll enjoy gaming much more. I'm not playing multiplayer because it's time consuming, but 1 or 2 titles are fine if you like to chat with friends while gaming

What counts as live service anymore? Like I play rivals that’s for sure live service, but is battlefield live service it’s always just been an online shooter but like cod has battle passes now and all that seasonal stuff so what separates a game with online multiplayer vs a live service

Yeah why do we need to have battlepass seasons and dailies and all that stuff.. just make the game and content so that people with actual lives dont feel like they miss out on everything

This is why I never touch live-service games, well, I did once. It felt like a chore and I was out. If I do want to play co-op I prefer open world survival games like Raft or spot the anomaly games. But I mostly play single player games and even games from a decade ago.
