HAMZAH ZAINUDIN – THE STAND-UP COMEDIAN WITH SIDEKICKS FROM PERIKATAN NASIONAL BY LOKMAN ADAM Hamzah Zainudin turned Parliament into a comedy club with his desperate attempt to sell Perikatan Nasional’s so-called “realistic vision” for Malaysia’s future. What was meant to be a serious policy pitch quickly became a circus of empty promises and laughable theatrics — complete with clueless sidekicks and delusional applause from his PN bench warmers. Hamzah’s “blockbuster moment” came when he claimed Perikatan Nasional would give every household RM6,000 a year, or RM500 a month — a promise clearly designed to outshine the Madani government’s People’s Budget. The only problem? He conveniently forgot to explain where on earth the money would come from. No numbers, no plan, no fiscal logic — just hot air and hollow talk. Perhaps, as many in the public sphere joked, he planned to pull it out of some chimpanzee. Even more laughable was his response when pressed by another MP about who Perikatan Nasional’s Prime Minister candidate would be. Hamzah’s reply? “Join us and find out.” That’s not leadership — that’s a carnival stunt. How can a coalition that doesn’t even know who’s leading it possibly convince Malaysians it knows how to lead a nation? Hamzah had the audacity to mock PMX’s Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) while promising his fantasy version, the so-called Bantuan Perihatin Nasional. But Malaysians remember: when PN was in power, there was no such grand compassion or people-centric policy. Instead, there was chaos, backdoor deals, and leaders obsessed with keeping their chairs warm rather than caring for the rakyat. Hamzah’s “sales pitch” reeked of desperation — “Give us power, and we promise we’ll do better.” But promises from PN have long lost their shine. They had power once, and the only thing they managed to deliver was political instability and economic uncertainty. To make matters worse, Hamzah’s performance was enthusiastically backed by another loudmouth from Kuala Terengganu, whose contribution was to parrot lies and peddle cheap propaganda. Together, they made a mockery of the parliamentary process — proving once again that Perikatan Nasional is more interested in scoring political points than presenting credible alternatives. The rakyat deserves serious leaders with ideas rooted in responsibility and reality — not political comedians trying to score laughs in Parliament. Hamzah Zainudin and his PN troupe have shown, beyond doubt, that their stagecraft far outweighs their statecraft.
