She told him they were not home. He left. But moments later, he came back. He told her he was her ex-uncle. When she tried to close the door, he forced his way inside. He tied her up and made her lie face down.When Stephen and Katie returned home with their four other children, Haskell bound them all. He demanded to know where Melannie was. When the family refused to tell him, he snapped.He lined them up and shot each of them in the back of the head, execution style. 💔 A Family’s Final Moments Inside that home were Stephen and Katie Stay and their children: Cassidy, 15 Bryan, 13 Emily, 9 Rebecca, 7 and little Zach, only 4. The bullet fractured her skull and tore the tip of her finger. Still, she stayed conscious. She pretended to be dead until Haskell drove away in the family’s car. With a whisper, she said, “He’s coming for my grandparents.” Her bravery saved their lives. 🚔 The Chase and Arrest Police used Cassidy’s information to track Haskell. A twenty minute chase followed.
