Back in the 50s and 60s they built, cars appliances, homes, everything to last for a very long time for decades, and then realized that people weren’t buying and replacing appliances and cars and homes fast enough for them to make a profit so they started making everything to break easily and using the cheapest products to make the things like fridges stoves cars roofs homes if you look at the homes, I used to make them with brick now they’re all siding plastic acrylic you get into a collision nowadays your whole entire car is finished when they had the muscle cars you could ram anything and you would have barely a scratch on your car I remember my mom’s refrigerator was like 30 years old. I remember our car lasted 20 years before any rust came on it.

Ppl took out loans on the 60s to buy a fridge. They cost $3000 when you could buy a house for $20000. Compare to today prices. Can’t afford to make those indestructible fridges anymore.

I looked into this s few years ago, a fridge freezer of that kind of quality nowadays would set you back £5k, thats why they don't make them anymore.
