If we consider the "intellectual" not just as someone who accumulates technical knowledge, but as someone who thinks critically about reality and current scenarios, then in the current context—marked by the logic of consumption, the acceleration of information, and the superficiality of networks—the act of reflecting deeply already becomes an act of resistance. Such behaviors directly clash with the way the system works, which prefers conformist individuals to critical and creative citizens. "Thinking is an act of resistance." - Theodor Adorno. Or, bringing it to the national Brazilian level, Paulo Freire said, "Liberating education is always a political act—and therefore, intellectualizing oneself is also rebelling against the order desired by the alienated people." "Not a rebel for a spectacle, but someone who responds only to their own inner compass” - As Ernst Jünger says: an authentic, non-performative rebellion. Many of the forms of rebellion among young people end up being absorbed by the capitalist system itself—they become fashion, marketing, a consumer identity. Being rebellious can become a style of clothing, an Instagram post, a slogan sold on T-shirts. This is the rebellion that the system incorporates as profit, which doesn't threaten it, but feeds it. This is the rebellion for the spectacle, visible, loud, but harmless. The opposite rebellion is that guided by ethical and intellectual principles. It is authentic.
