Actually no one owns the land even those buying houses. Everyone owns the structure build on the land, and many apartments are better than houses

Not applicable for all apartments. The old low rise apartments, the build has already been depreciated over time relative to the appreciating land. Some of these apartments are pure land value where the land appreciation has outstripped the overall resale value itself. The well located old apartments have the potential to be rezoned and subsequently acquired for its land value.

Still the part I don't understand is how the property taxes are forty one floors up. whether all they're sitting on two acres of land for 600 hundred units. i guess it's called fresh air tax
