@lovelylexx14: My daughter evelice got diagnosed with MIXED CONNECTIVE TISSUE DISEASE (autoimmune disorder that combines symptoms from multiple connective tissue diseases, such as lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis ) last year … it’s sometimes called an overlapping disease.. she showed signs as a baby but doctors shrugged it off as she’s just a late learner.. at the age of 5 she had a time where her body swelled up and had trouble walking but again doctors said they couldn’t find nothing wrong …. Now she was 10 years old when this flare up took over her body … her face started to swell up… her ankles, knees and elbows swelled up and she couldn’t move or bend them . Her body was so sensitive to the touch that it burned if her clothes were on or if someone even rubbed against her … she went from showers too bird baths due to the water burning her skin bc of the sensitivity.. so much going on and not many answers.. once we finally saw a rheumatologist and immunologist they went right to work and did all these test to see what was going on and why it was making her so ill .. she lost mobility for 3 months … it was very limited.. she had to learn to walk over again and went to therapy to regain leg strength… she was prescribed medication after medication and nothing was working so we stopped taking it all and focused more on god and switched our diet up and just prayed that god would help her and heal her .. she also got diagnosed with secondary Raynaud's syndrome is a condition that causes temporary narrowing of the blood vessels in the fingers, toes, and sometimes other areas of the body. There are times her hands and toes would feel like ice bricks and she would scream bc of the pain from walking on it or from them being touched 😭 . Autoimmune diseases get so over looked … if you don’t go to therapy hospital when your in a flare up most likely they won’t catch it . To see my daughter go from running to laying in bed bc she can’t move literally broke me . I continue to pray daily bc I don’t ever want her too feel like this again .. she’s been in remission for 5 months and im hoping we can stay like this #autoimmunedisease #mixedconnectivetissuedisorder #mixedconnectivetissuediseaseawareness
