@gigidiazofficial: My mom dedicated almost 2 decades to the healthcare system, and retired as a senior researcher for breast cancer patients as well as other cancer research. There’s many immigrant stories just like hers, and not one day goes by that she doesn’t feel proud of the work she’s done and the sacrifices she has made. It was one of my dreams to honor her in this way, thank you Hunter College for being a part of her story. There’s a quiet kind of love in the sacrifices mothers make; the dreams they pause, the sleep they trade, the worries they carry so we can walk lighter. We may not always say it, but we see it. We see the hands that built our safety, the hearts that kept beating for us when theirs were tired.
