Last Thursday, I crossed by foot into the US from MX & I was shocked with Customs! It was like they were putting on a SNL skit mocking the US, greeting white people crossing in from MX!!!😂 When I crossed later by vehicle- the line was going so fast & I watched the agent PRETEND to swipe our passports..!!! I hadn't seen such laid back agents since the 90s..!!! I grew up on the border & these guys seem to be hanging by a string rn!!

As a general rule, Don't use biometrics. Always say, "I do not consent to a search." Only SHOW DO NOT GIVE your ID.

By the time you get to the checkpoint, they already know if you’re a citizen and some other information like if you are a CHL license, because of all the cameras that are before the checkpoint they already checking you out. But they ask because they want to know if you speak English and want to hear your accent.

Thanks! I’m afraid to leave the country. I’m about 17 generations deep Mexican-American in this country. I have an Anglo full name, in Juarez I was detained, they thought I had fake documents.

I go through these checkpoints regularly. I roll down my window 1 inch put my federal ID at the window it does not leave my hand I do not unlock my doors at all. One word answers only. Anything more ask for a trooper.
