I’ll also die on this hill. I read the manga panel as Eren struggling to maintain his composure for a moment after seeing Mikasa in person after so long. The majority of the anime adaptation is great, but I didn’t feel that tension in Eren there; it felt like he was just a bit annoyed. It is tiny in the grand scheme of things, but I agree with you here

they could’ve did the expressions a bit better, like the scene where armin tells eren if he wanted the freedom to hurt mikasa after their fight—his expression was more pained, wish they translated that into the anime properly 💔💔 mappa was still a better studio than wit imo, wit took out so many eremika scenes
