As a Black South African, born and bread in Cape Town - there's so much to unpack here 🤣🤣. He's basically telling you that being coloured is superior to being Black and is bitter because the tides turned after apartheid. Coloured folk were seen as superior, and for most Cape Town coloureds that still is the mentality. Coloured people in Johannesburg are different however, they are more integrated with Black people hence you not experiencing the same issue there. Joburg is very integrated - black, white, coloured, asians - they are way more progressive

As a black South African, that man is white and is considered white. He only identifies as “coloured” so that he is excused for saying racist thing. Him creating an illusion that black people and coloured people were prioritised after apartheid, is exactly that an illusion. Black people and coloured people till date are still on the less benefiting end of the economy. White people still have the riches that their forefather took, where black people and coloured people have to work tirelessly to have just half of what white people have. He’s statement “black people and coloured people were prioritised after apartheid” shows his ignorant and bitter trait he was basically telling you that black people and coloured people “took our jobs, riches and places of living” after apartheid. After you reiterated what he said I knew that he was either a white racist man or a coloured racist man. Just for understanding in case you wonder how a coloured person would be racist, coloured people were seen as superior to the black person. However this doesn’t mean that coloured people were still not treated unfairly the proximity to whiteness gave them a bit of playground so this mindset can be carried down and cause a coloured person to be racist.
