I am a Catholic all my life and went to Catholic school but left to go to public school in 4th grade. I completed all my sacraments except my confirmation. I completed that sacrament as an adult in my early twenties. I don’t understand what the big deal is! 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀

I got confirmed while I was in college at UT University Catholic Center (hook ‘em) and everyone thought that was a strange thing to do while I was in college but I had the same mindset as you. It meant even more to me to make that decision with so much more intention behind it.

I’ve been shamed about not getting confirmed as a teenager, and it made me go longer without doing it. I finally decided to do it now and I agree w you, it’s a beautiful thing to choose God on your own will as an adult. The important thing is forming a relationship with God, no matter your age. I’m so happy for you and I wish you the best in your marriage!

Anto, I’m so happy for you, I no longer go to church because of my experience in churches in the past. Weird how unhappy people, feel so strongly about something like this. I’ve always found my faith is stronger and more grounded when I don’t attend church, because the people I’ve encountered are so hypocritical. In college I attended a non Catholic Church and it was much more reflective of the love of God to me. All love to you and Elio! ❤

I had my confirmation at 15 in Mexico, and I loved it, Like for 2 months everything was about the kids(13 to 17) were confirming, stores closed later, vendors, running around to find a priest for confession, you studied everywhere and people helped. It was an amazing community event.

No need to justify yourself to randoms. Also being confirmed right before marriage is not rare. In Spain which is a very Christian country, most children make their 1st Holy Communion and don’t get Confirmed. They will get confirmed right before marriage. ❤

Getting Confirmed is saying yes to Jesus and sealing your baptism. It’s usually done when you’re a freshman, but it’s never too late. I agree you that people leave the church because of the hypocrisy. Just do what is best for you and don’t lose any sleep about the comments.

my daughter attended a Catholic school from kindergarten til 8th grade. they did their confirmation way early on for her school in 2018. she was 7. congratulations girlfriend, it’s such a beautiful feeling. like my daughter said at that time, “i have jesus in my heart now”
