@cbsmornings: California Governor Gavin Newsom told CBS News’ Robert Costa @CBS Sunday Morning he is busy campaigning for a state ballot measure but did not rule out a future bid for the White House. His comments add his name to a long list of possible 2028 contenders, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and several governors. Inside the GOP, some of President Trump’s allies, including Steve Bannon, are “actively toying with the idea of pushing him to be the candidate in 2028,” Costa reports, despite the 22nd Amendment, which does not allow a president to run for a third term.
