The “Electric Slide” dance was introduced in 1976. It was choreographed by Ric Silver as a line dance to the song “Electric Boogie” — a song written by Bunny Wailer and later popularized by Marcia Griffiths in 1983 and again in 1989, when the dance really took off internationally.
