Gives an interesting meaning to “the meek shall inherit the earth”.

I think it’s doable. It’s getting over differential valuations for others vs self. If you can appreciate them, why not self, and visa-versa. Community.

Do I get it? I know and see there is no inherent meaning, but I still feel happy. I find this liberating and empowering. You say people who have this consciousness struggle to be optimistic, but it's not the case for me because, even if I'm aware this is meaningless, I enjoy it anyway

Can you talk about synthetic evolution based on patriarchy and gender violence? Women havent been genuinely “choosing” who to reproduce with

That’s one way to see it, but I think it oversimplifies what’s really happening. ‘Awake’ people don’t stop reproducing because evolution favors ignorance, they stop because the human-made world has become hostile to empathy and awareness. Consciousness itself often emerges from recursive trauma, generations processing suffering until the mind learns to see itself. The issue isn’t biology; it’s that we’ve built a society where kindness feels unsafe. If the world were humane, intelligent people wouldn’t hesitate to bring life into it. Evolution isn’t rejecting consciousness, it’s using pain to refine it.

So perhaps the real insight isn’t that society is bound by religion, but that humans are bound by the need for meaning — and religion, in its many forms, has been the most enduring vehicle for that need. A mature secularism might not reject spirituality, but consciously re-integrate it, recognising that reason and reverence are not enemies, but complementary forces in a healthy society.

So, in other words, a dictatorship would be ideal if the dictator didn't become drunk on power and lines of thought were preserved successfully and people could have the same exposure to truth as with whatever religions people came up with?

Culture doesn't need to take the form of religion. It can absorb wisdom and turn it into myths. These myths can guide us and misguide us. And we can allow ourselves to examine those myths, understand their insights and their limitations. We'll probably never get close to absolute truth and wisdom, but maybe we can implement the technology in a way that isn't so divorced from a critical eye and political influence.

Yeah in the end religion will win. I don’t think we’re biologically wired to think abstractly about our own existence. If cognitive characteristics are genetic then the artificial selection of “if every time you see a spider you kill it, you inadvertently drive the evolution of spiders” giving them a better ability to hide, then it is true for us as well.

This was Mike Judge’s premise for “Idiocracy.” People with the worst habits and the poorest understandings are going to out-produce the ones who do see and know things.

aren't a lot of eastern religions grounded in promoting an awareness of consciousness and prioritizing education? billions of people belong to such religions with little dogma. maybe this is only a western world problem.

I agree that the “collective utopia” is a fallacy theme that has occurred historically. I think it is up to the individual. The more individuals take upon the challenge, create meaning from and through it, are open to the possibility of a better future or world, or more peaceful unified way of being, as well as understanding of culture the better it can be for them and everyone else.

Ok I understand there’s a wiring issue we would have to overcome. But what’s the alternative? I don’t know about you, but things feel fragile. We’re destroying the planet and I have a lot of life left to live. When we have a system level issue and our response is on individual level, it never feels like enough. Say you wake up and your apartment building is on fire. Do you just create a new story for yourself that allows you to live with the flames until they kill you? Or do you try to tell everyone the building is on fire so that you can collectively attempt to put it out? Just living in a way that puts out some flames and hoping others notice and follow suit still doesn’t feel like enough either. I just don’t think the answer can be to throw our hands up even if we don’t have a better answer yet

what's your story that made you go out of your way to seek out these knowledge?. I curious really. I'm at the point in my life that I'm beginning to be aware. I'm questioning everything especially the human purpose of existence and individual purpose if existence at the time you came into existence

your version of evolution sounds awfully teleological. evolution did not "create us" to be anything. it's a label we attach (after the fact) to a process that is as indifferent to our survival as it is unaware of itself.

i think that technological progress will in fact forces humans to adapt, especially when human population will start to decrease in the world. rules for "rich" are same as before, in the end there always can be another french revolution, especially when aging population problem will be solved
