Every time I need to make a new starter, mostly because I get tired of making bread and toss it, I just make a regular batch of yeast bread and save a golf ball size to feed twice a day for a couple of days and magically I have a new starter. I don’t care if it’s cheating. I still get really good sour dough.

I use a mixture or rye and whole wheat oven light on starter in oven.

A friend of mine told me she has a sourdough starter named Dough-lene and her mom named hers Dough-Linda 😂

I made Breaduardough from Scratch and he was ready to go in 11 days. I ignored all the rules. I didn't measure anything. Just dumped some out and added flour and water till it looked like pancake batter. And I sat it next to my wax warmer. Good luck Eleanor
