What Are You Telling Me Lord? Many people are continually asking me how I’m doing, because my spirit remains high, I’m still smiling, still joking. Then, there are those saying, I don’t have to act tough all the time, or be extra “alpha”, whatever that means… but the truth is I really miss my brother. What Are You Telling Me Lord? December 2024, my brother called and asked to live with me in Dallas, TX because he said he wanted a change of scenery and for his 2025 to be different. I declined, told him the grass is green wherever you watered it, and then came up with a gameplan for him to become a 6-figure barber. We would do weekly budget checkin, to make sure he was remaining consistent. As I’m progressing in business, all I could think about was showing my brothers and sisters, how the game go… to the point I wanted to move back to CT and have them watch me build out there. So I made the decision on my bday, July 9, that I was gonna move back, but I wanted to surprise my brother. July 22nd I wake up to 52 missed calls… What Are You Telling Me Lord? That I have a mission. The passing of my little brother, Tyrese Butler, lit a spark in me. I continuously think about, “What if he moved in with me?… would he be alive?” Life is short, and it’s time to stop taking it for granted. It lit a spark so strong that I know him, my mom, and grandma, are watching what I do with this gift that’s been put on me. The weight is so heavy, I want to cry at times. But I’m so damn focused on doing a job well done, impacting those around me, walking in my truth, my purpose, that nothing else matters. My last name will be an asset. With that being said, I want to thank everyone who’s reached out to me, sent their condolences, and has checked in on me and the family. I love ya’ll💫
