Have a 10 week old and a 2.5 year old. Doctor told us to take the toddler out of daycare to keep newborn safe for the first month. Guess what toddler got a respiratory illness AND throw ups literally the night we got home from the hospital. Welcome to Jackass

I used to think I had a good immune system, turns out I just didn’t have young children in daycare/school.

The coughing will stop in the spring 😂 when sick season is over.

The coughing doesn’t stop. Because once the kids are old enough to stop open mouth coughing on you, you get to start taking care of elderly parents that open mouth cough on you. Then when they’re gone, you become the open mouth cougher. It’s basically the circle of life.

When the coughing stops, the kid brings home a new virus and the coughing starts again. The second year of preschool was way better illness-wise though!

Upside to daycare! We had rock solid immune systems by the time they reached 1 - makes big school so much easier !

So my pediatrician explained that a cough can last 2 weeks, so just enough time to catch something new 😵💫 The first winter in school is the worst!! Hopefully it passes quickly!

We call it “kennel cough” in our house and the good news is that you’ll just start to tune out the coughing by December. Decorate your kitchen with Tylenol cups, those are your only friends now. But hear me out- my son is now in 5th grade and he has not been sick in YEARS. It will be worth it 🥲

Sorry it stops in like 1st grade. We were sick for years it felt like 🤪. Although at 11 we are bullet proof so there is hope!!

I’m so sorry…. It’s rough out there. It does get better, it really does. The bad news is; roughly around a year is when it does. But I used to think of it like tech start ups in the early 2000s, fail fast (get sick) because the faster you go through all the illnesses the faster you get to the other side…

Elderberry weirdly helped me and my husband. We were sick ALL the time. It SUCKED. Someone recommended it and I was skeptical but it helped our perpetual cough. I swore we had black mold. No we just had toddlers

The first year in daycare for my son was unbelievable. He was actually never not sick. We are going into the second winter now and the sickness has slowed way down. He hasn't been sick at all for like two weeks, not even a slightly runny nose..it's incredible.
