I spilled milk this am and my 8 year old said “it’s ok, accidents happen.” And i nearly cried because it’s nice to be reassured that you’re doing good as a parent

Concerned about how no one is talking about the little boy who ran away and hid. I’d have his parents investigated.

As a parent myself, i strongly suggest therapy prior to having kids. Having kids WILL bring out your childhood trauma that you might not even realize you have.

So my daughter does this even though I react calm when she makes a mess. I simply say “it’s ok let’s clean it up” yet she’s still freaking out and crying the whole time… it confuses me.

I saw somewhere that the fawn response is mainly evolutionarily useful because it helps notify us when a baby needs immediate attention - it hurts to see a kid have that reaction when they should be the one responded TO

Hello, this video can be misleading as it also doesn’t show the whole clip. The video “La Vida Secreta de los Niños: Resistir la tentación de los caramelos” shows a group of children left alone with a candy machine after being told NOT to touch it. One curious child turns the handle, causing candies to spill out. She becomes upset and starts to cry as other children react differently—some comfort her, others watch or point out what happened. In the end, the host returns, reassures the child, and comforts her, helping her feel better about the mistake.

Everytime people crap on gentle parenting I just think, would you rather have children who respond like this to the world? Or kids who can calm themselves and ask for help?

I used to be an Education Support Worker.
I taught kids with behavioural difficulties (mainly).
What you are witnessing here is trauma.
And the way the producers of the show allowed this to continue for our "viewing pleasure" makes me feel sick to my stomach.

This is horrifying. The way she is shaking uncontrollably, you can see the sheer terror in her reaction.

My kids will have memories of me losing my temper and being too harsh. But they will have just as many memories of me apologizing and asking for forgiveness, and I think that’s important too

I spilt something in the car this morning and my five year old said “it’s okay mommy, everyone makes mistakes”, and that’s the point of gentle parenting
