My dad got disfellowshipped at 16. He’s parents never talk to him and he’s over 50 now , with guilt and trauma still. They only talk to him when they want money or if someone passes in the family. It’s wild

okay, so my mom is an ex jw and it’s somewhat hard asking her questions because she acts like a war vet with it (i don’t blame her). but my question is, why exactly do JWs not take blood transfusions? ik in my grandma’s wallet i think (idk) theres a card that says “no blood transfusions” but my mom told me not to ask her and my mom has barely explained it so i guess i just don’t understand.

i love this series!! i grew up going to church here and there, mainly for my grandfather. but after years of bible school and bible camp, there was things i started to question. after a while i decided that i didn’t want to be religious, but people look at me crazy when i say that. i’m glad it isn’t just me

Same I never got baptized I just knew it wasn’t right and disfellowship never sat right with me from a young age especially since my mom was for years it’s just goes against everything jw are supposed to stand for it’s just so much that’s doesn’t make sense to me still to this day

I’ve always been so curious, what are the Sunday services like? Are there any rules regarding what you can/ can’t wear or who is in leadership. Also what is their reasoning for saying you can’t celebrate Christmas or even your own bday?

My mom was disfellowshipped when she divorced my dad when the elders told her she needed to work it out. Mind you my dad cheated. Anyway, best thing that ever happened to me.
