@bbsbhutan_news: The groundbreaking ceremony for the Gelephu Barchey Kuensel Chorten was held today in Samtenling, within the Gelephu Mindfulness City. The ceremony was presided over by Kathok Situ Rinpoche. The Chorten, one of the Eight Spiritual Projects officially approved by His Majesty The King, will be constructed on a 21-acre site and will stand 61 meters tall, surrounded by 108 smaller stupas. Once completed, the monument is envisioned to symbolize peace and universal well-being, serving as a central spiritual landmark of the Gelephu Mindfulness City. The construction of the main Chorten is planned to be completed by 2029, coinciding with the completion of the Gelephu International Airport. #gmcbhutan #bbsnews
