🐟🐠🐡 pause to read the written tutorial ! hi!! this is my last post in collaboration with @Clip Studio Paint 🐠🐟🩵 today’s video is a full speedpaint video with some tips, I will write down the more detailed process so pause to read or screenshot if you want !! ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ 🐟 Background I usually start by painting the background under my sketch, making sure it covers all the edges. When it’s done, I sometimes add another layer underneath to catch any “holes” or spots I forgot to fill. To make the colors feel richer, I set my brush to give a bit more saturation and hue variety with every stroke. I also use the eyedropper tool a lot to select colors more easily (eyedropper… life saving tool 🧎‍♀️) 🐠 Rendering characters and other elements I lower the sketch layer’s opacity to paint the big shapes, then toggle it off to work on the details. That way I can see what the final piece will look like without the sketch lines, it makes rendering so much easier! Sometimes I paint an outline and then blend it with the smudge tool, it makes the painting sharper!! 🐡 Last adjustments I add a layer under everything to pop in a bit of white or fill any missing color. At the very end, I always play with color grading + lighting adjustments (curves, HSL…) to match the mood I imagined at the start. Sometimes it’s hard to pick the exact colors you want while painting, but that’s okay you can always adjust it at the end !
