Dermatologists follow an algorithm that's designed to treat your acne not cure it. The same goes for most topical treatments and skincare. As someone who's been on everything including accutane, this is how I would fix my acne if it came back:
-stop all skincare (even some sunscreens contain hormone disruptors - switch to mineral based zinc sunscreen if you really need it) - you can reintroduce stuff later; ahas, bhas, retinol etc once your active lesions are gone
-stop trigger foods(these can be slowly reintroduced later if you fix your leaky gut)
-parasite/candida cleanse (esp if you were put on antibiotics for acne, or history of eating too much sugar) + fix gut dysbiosis
-fix nutrient deficiencies (some medications like birth control can cause this) -> use chatgpt to suggest most common nutrient deficiencies that cause acne and supplement based on gaps in your diet
