I almost cried making my own edit // Here's some of my thoughts on s4: SPOILERS The season was disappointing. It wasn’t as bad as I initially thought, but it wasn’t great. I am so sad to be writing this, but I expected much more. Of course, there were many good moments, but it felt so rushed. The characters mostly fell flat, some being completely ruined (*cough* Five & Lila), so many unanswered questions (wtf was that squid?), and a lack of what makes tua, tua; no notable soundtrack, no dance scenes, and they underused the show's best aspect - the family. The first two episodes were good. The next two were a little worse but still enjoyable. Then ep5 happened, and it all went to shit. I have to talk about Five, who has always been one of my favourites. He was completely butchered. I didn’t recognise him toward the end, he was so out of character. Five’s motive has ALWAYS been his family. He survived 45 years in the apocalypse hoping to get back to them. Then this “same” Five decides not to go back to them, all because he’s settled down with Lila (I felt physically sick during those scenes, I'm not joking) and suddenly doesn’t care about his family? Who was that? Because it sure as hell wasn’t our Five. I am disgusted with this plot. The age gap, any way you put it, is gross. It was unnecessary and made me so uncomfortable, not to mention how badly it was handled. They fucked out the show's best ship for unneeded drama. (I am looking at you, Steve. No, Five did NOT need a love story). I missed my fave duos (Klaus & Ben/Five/Diego, Five & Viktor). The buildup to the end wasn’t good, though I will say I don’t dislike how it ended (I am not okay 😭). I have more to say but I’ll leave it at this: The disappointment I feel is immense and upsetting, but I’ll always love tua. I’ll miss this cast and these characters incredibly. I’ll never forget what this show has done for me. It’s goodbye to this family for now.
