@cbspittsburgh: Campers at Pittsburgh Roaring Run RV Resort said they feel betrayed by the old owner, who sold the campground in Westmoreland County, #Pennsylvania – and the new owners who are telling them to vacate. For the hundreds of families who camp, it's a 100-acre paradise. And for years, they've parked their RVs and made friends, becoming a big extended family. Each one has paid $10,000 or more for lifetime memberships, but suddenly those memberships appear not worth the paper they're printed on. When KDKA went to the former owner's home after he failed to show up to an agreed-upon meeting, he drove away.

$10K for a lifetime and everyone just gets to park their RV and never pay again? Those people are crazy. $10K would just about cover one year of campground expenses per RV site.

Just like a lifetime warranty. The warranty is only good so long as the business is good. Once it sells or goes bankrupt, so does the warranty.

At 10k for a lifetime membership there’s no way in hell they can survive with them there. Avg yearly seasonal site is anywhere from 2-10k Per year

If you buy a gym membership….. and that gym goes out of business and sells, and a new one opens in the same place… you don’t get a free membership to the new gym.

that's how wealthy socialist companies do deals now. the new owners and Carl are both to blame also the government are also at fault for not regulating these kind of deals where business screw over citizens

The world lifetime membership is one that is often misinterpreted. Its not your lifetime in a lot of cases. Its the lifetime of the business which was sold. Is it wrong, yeah it is but Im curious to see what the agreement was orginally.

They'll sue both the old and new owners. There will be a settlement at some point and though they won't get all their money back, they'll get something.

Instead of wasting money on legal action, these people should spend it on finding a new place to live. They’re not going to win in court. Those contracts became null and void as soon as the property was sold.

I think the LLC is going to have issues in court if it finds that the leases follow the property. Much like selling a building with tenants who have leases…
