I've always thought queer was more of a mindset than an identity. like yes it's also an identity for sure, but queerness is about being open minded. it is possible to be gay and not queer imo

Being Ace I had the hardest time considering myself culturally queer. Pride is obviously culturally queer and not ace inclusive. I don’t think it needs to be either. It’s still confusing.

This felt like 2 ½ minutes of a warm gentle hug. As somebody who didn’t recognise/accept their bisexuality until years into my marriage (and who’s been in a straight passing relationship for 15 years), I often don’t feel like I “count” as queer.

Thanks for this! I only realised last year (in my 30’s) that I’m bi and I’m married to a straight man so I’m doing as much as I can to learn about the community and history. I’m a little loner so going out into the world to join in is hard for me but as you said, I’m trying to use the internet to my advantage. Always learning and will teach where I can 😊
