Hello Lovely People Of God. Welcome to Doreen’s Gospel Wednesday. Today I will be sharing with you on the topic: The Power of Right Thinking Imagine you show up at work every day, giving your best. You stay late when needed, help your colleagues, and do your job with excellence. Yet somehow, your efforts go unnoticed. You’re overlooked for promotions, falsely accused of mistakes, or even spoken to harshly by those in authority. In those moments, frustration builds, and it’s easy to let your thoughts drift toward bitterness or self-doubt. But Philippians 4:8 reminds us, “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.” This scripture teaches us that peace begins with perspective. Life may not always be fair, but your thoughts can still be faithful. You can’t control people’s actions, but you can control your reaction. A Christ-centered mind refuses to be shaped by negativity. It filters pain through purpose. Think of Joseph,betrayed by his brothers, sold as a slave, and falsely imprisoned after serving faithfully in Potiphar’s house. If anyone had a reason to be bitter, it was him. Yet, Joseph didn’t allow offense to dwell in his mind. He trusted that even in betrayal, God was still writing his story. That right thinking positioned him for divine elevation,from the prison to the palace. Then there’s Daniel, a man of integrity serving in a corrupt system. Though envied and plotted against by his peers, he never allowed their schemes to cloud his mind. Daniel’s focus was on what was pure and noble,his relationship with God. He kept praying, kept believing, and as a result, God shut the mouths of lions on his behalf. Consider Esther, who found herself in a position of influence surrounded by pressure and danger. She could have panicked or doubted, but instead she fixed her mind on courage and purpose, declaring, “If I perish, I perish.” Her bold and godly thinking saved an entire nation. Even Paul, who penned Philippians 4:8 while in prison, had every reason to give up. Yet instead of despair, he chose joy. He didn’t focus on the chains; he focused on the Christ who was still with him. His mind was not imprisoned, even though his body was. That is the power of right thinking. When you fix your thoughts on what is true, noble, pure, and praiseworthy, you silence the voice of negativity and strengthen your spirit.
