@theptmama: Replying to @Chris Manz It’s not about being overprotective ..it’s about what we know. Repeated hits to the head matter, even without concussions. #physicaltherapy #football #childdevelopment
He might watch it, but I know he has never played it. 😂😂😂

The lessons that football teaches are far beyond any other sport Ive ever played. And I played another sport in college. Things have that empowered me to become a millionaire by 31 years old

Soccer is more dangerous for head injuries than football is. Also, buy a Q Collar for your young athlete it’s worth its weight in gold

100% respect your stance. But however supporting a sport you won’t let your loved one compete in tell something. I don’t watch porn because I don’t want to cheat on my wife. Just a thought. Other than that it’s bs that people get on to how others raise their kids.

I can agree that young kids like youth playing football. Our son who is 10 has been asking for yrs and I don’t see the benefit of it. But when he gets to 7/8th grade and wants to do it still. I would let him bc it’s ultimately his choice. Just like my other kids. I don’t want to be the parent that controls that aspect of their life. Let them chase things and not have to look for me or their mom’s approval of if it’s ok to do.

Football Dad here, and while I allow it its always in the back of my mind and forever nervous before games. I dont get why so many people are hating on your decision. It's reasonable and yours to make

I’ve got 3 rules I’ve said since I found out I was pregnant. No football, no bull riding, and no army. I get called crazy but my kid matters more than what ppl think of me.

If they learn to play the game how it is supposed to be played they won’t get a brain injury not all football players get one it is actually a lot lower than you think but that is your option to not let them but what if your kid wants to play

Played RB for 13 years. 0 concussions. Teach your kids how to play correctly and they will be fine

They aren’t wrong all together. However, your husband may watch it doesn’t seem to have experience. As a AYF certified tackling coach my thing is if the kid truly wants to play a sport no matter what it is you should let them. But when it comes to football if a kid only wants to play for the jersey or the equipment but when it comes to contact if they don’t want to get hurt they need to make sure they want tonplay

As a HS football coach, neither of my boys played tackle football until 7th gr school ball. Flag fb was just fine before that. My oldest was 1st team AC LB his JR/SR yrs & now coaches with me. Youngest started at WR/DB & was 3rd on team in tackles.

Gen X pointing and laughing , playing organized sports is the best child development you can give them . You as parents can’t teach them what it’s like to go through that kind of camaraderie
