As someone working in fashion, totally agree. Most of these “samples” is simply overstock that is produced in higher quantities to keep manufacturing prices down.

Yeah….this is why I started buying literally almost all of my clothes second hand. The benefit is when I get tired of it, I can usually turn around and resell it for what I paid so I break even when I want to refresh my closet 😏

Most people are just so disconnected from garment manufacturing, they can’t even tell what’s “good” anymore. There are luxury brands that make pieces worthy of the price, but too many people overlook the classic American midmarket like Old Navys and the Levi’s and the Gaps. The best thing you can do is buy non-stretch jeans a size too big and take them to a tailor.

The only real luxury is tailor made clothes. I don’t understand how people can use 1500$ for a pair of trousers from a brand, but not buy custom made clothing.

I’ve loved The Row before TikTok made it what it is now. I understand the runway looks and it in general, but not the sample sale. I buy my 100% cotton t-shirts at Uniqulo and Ninety-Percent

While I can’t comprehend the prices for a lot for their clothing, I do own a row bag that I’ve been doing my best to wear to death for over 2 years and it is hands down the best bag I’ve ever owned in terms of quality and durability and pleasantness of use.
